The Student Entrepreneurial Process and the Student Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: A Case Study of Seoul National University

Abstract

본 연구는 대학 학생 창업생태계의 구성요소를 식별하고, 학생 기업가의 창업 과정에서 나타나는 대학 학생 창업생태계의 구성요소 간 상호작용을 분석했다. 본 논문에서는 서울대학교를 사례로 대학 학생 창업생태계의 조성에 대한 시사점과 제언을 다음과 같이 제공한다. 첫째, 일반적인 창업생태계와는 달리 대학 창업생태계는 대학이 교내외의 다양한 행위자들을 연결하는 네트워크 구축과 조정의 역할을 한다. 둘째, 대학 창업생태계에서 발생하는 학생 창업 과정에서 대학은 학내에 구축된 네트워크를 통해 기업가정신을 교육하며, 학생 창업가는 ‘동문 창업가’라는 동질감을 바탕으로 창업에 이른다는 점이 특징적이다. 셋째, 이러한 대학 학생 창업생태계의 특성을 토대로 생태계 내 창업 조직들을 긴밀하게 연계하여 학생들의 창업 과정을 연쇄적으로 지원하는 시스템이 구축되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the components of the student entrepreneurial ecosystem in university and analyzes the interactions among these components in the student entrepreneurial process. Using Seoul National University as a case study, this study suggests several implications for constructiong student entrepreneurial ecosystem. First, the university serves as a hub that connects various actors both within and outside the campus in the university entrepreneurial ecosystem. Second, the student entrepreneurial ecosystems are characterized by educational aspects of the university's entrepreneurial networks established on campus, and the sense of affinity derived from being 'alumni' among students. Finally, based on the research results, it is recommended that system should be established to closely link entrepreneurial organizations within the ecosystem, thereby providing sequential support for students in their entrepreneurial process. These insights contribute to a deeper understanding of how universities can enhance their role in promoting student entrepreneurship.
